The historic village of Collingham is located astride the A1133, around 5-miles from the famous market town of Newark, and around 12 miles from the University and Cathedral City of Lincoln.  It is around 1-mile from the River Trent, with the Collingham Brook development situated on higher-ground to the east of the village making it free of flood risks.

The major University City of Nottingham lies only 30-miles to the south, and is easily accessible by either road or rail; the market towns of Grantham and Retford are also within easy reach by either road or rail.

Collingham lies at the centre of a wide array of attractions, ranging from the rolling landscapes, parks and woods of Robin Hood country to the west, to the traditional seaside experience of the east of England coast which is within an easy day-excursion.

LOCAL AMENITIES

The nearby town of Newark offers a vibrant social scene, with numerous attractive eating and drinking options; this is mirrored in the City of Lincoln, whilst there is a wide choice of destination gastro-pubs in nearby villages.

Collingham itself offers a very wide range of amenities, not usually to be found in villages.  Alongside a popular village pub, Collingham offers more than 50 local special-interest and activities groups, including very high-quality cricket, football, tennis and bowls clubs, and a library.

The retail offering in the village is also remarkable, with two Chinese restaurants/take-ways, a fish’n’chips shop, a number of owner-operated shops, a post office, a specialist butchers shop and two “open-all-hours” local convenience stores.

Above all, the village offers a genuine feeling of shared community, which makes it an ideal home for all members of the family, and therefore one of the most sought-after locations in the region.

TRANSPORT

Collingham station offers a regular service throughout the day to Lincoln, Newark and Nottingham, with onward connections via the national rail network;  this includes a popular and frequent service to and from London in under one and a half hours.  Connections to the national road network are equally convenient, with the main A1 north/south, A46 to the west and A17 to the east interchange only 3-miles away.

Collingham village is also well-served by regular bus service to nearby villages, and Newark and Lincoln.

MEDICAL SERVICES

Collingham is extremely well-served by its medical practice which also covers a number of other nearby smaller settlements.  Co-location with a pharmacy and dental practice means that the village is self-contained to meet most routine medical needs.  It is also backed by an urgent injuries unit in Newark, with Lincoln County and Mansfield Kings Mill A&E hospitals also relatively nearby.
